Blackbird actress, Monique was once on cloud nine in her career! Between her talk show, "Monique" and her Oscar win for her role, Mary Lee Johnston in the 2009 film, Precious, Hollywood couldn't get sweeter for the actress.

Soon after her success whirlwind, the 47-year-old's career took a dramatic turn and in February of this year, the star explained to The Hollywood Reporter the downward shift in her acting journey. Monique also revealed how the creator of the FOX hit, "Empire" and friend, Lee Daniels explained to her that she had been blackballed in Hollywood, stating,

"I got a call from Lee Daniels maybe six or seven months ago. And he said to me, Mo-Nique, you've been blackballed. Because you didn't play the game."

After Monique's interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress being blackballed went in a media frenzy. Monique has gone on to discuss the issue during her Blackbird promotion tour with tv shows like "CNN Tonight" with Don Lemon and  "The Wendy Williams Show."

April 20th, The actress went on Sway In The Morning to defend her truth in stating that Daniels offered her the role of  Cookie Lyon for "Empire." After the actress had stated that she received an offer, Daniels' writing partner, Daniel Strong went on to state that Monique wasn't ever offered the role.

In Monique's defense, the Oscar winner brought email receipts from Daniels to her interview on Sway In The Morning Monday proving that she was offered the role.  Monique explained that she hadn't spoken to Daniels,  but she did email the "Empire" creator warning him that his emails will be exposed.
