Jamie Foxx's rendition of the National Anthem May 2nd at Mayweather-Pacquaio fight had mixed reviews. TMZ for instance, wrote about actor Jake Gyllenhaal and his disappointment with Foxx's performance and included a video clip Gyllenhaal passing judgement during Foxx's singing.

The twitter world also weighed in on the Oscar winner's performance with "The Real's" Jeannie Mai chiming in with her May 3rd tweet,

"Jamie Foxx vs that organ. #BetterFightsThanMayPac"

Even though the forty-seven year old's performance had tough reviews, the actor went on "The Ellen Show" Tuesday to defend his performance, stating,

"But what did happen in the ring, my ears came out. My inner ears. My inner ears came out and I'm singing with the organ so I can't hear what the organ is doing with the big crowd. So some of it was a little bit off, but I think in the arena it killed. The telecast was a little off. But ya know, we still love America."
